I took fmla this morning. I didn’t need it for Gary but for myself. I needed a ‘me’ night, an ‘I need rest’ night. I have done very well with not calling in for 2 weeks. I have made sure I have my sleep; being able to sleep 3 hrs in the afternoon and then again 4-5 hrs in the evening has been good for me. We flew there in Thursday, April 8. We had 3 flights with layovers: Des Moines-Chicago, Chicago-Miami, Miami-San Pedro Sula. The entire trip took around 13 hours. Polk county opened it up for more 'at-risk' groups.  So I feel good now knowing that he is safe.  That is one flu that could land him in the hospital. However, I could not get it. I tried. As his caregiver and the fact that I work in a casino and am exposed to germs constantly, I tried to convince them that I needed it also. He was working to earn money to finish building their house. Before coming back, they completed the foundation, cement block walls and metal roof with steel beams. While here, he regularly sent Ana his earnings and she hired laborers to start the inside of the house.
